Burdette Named Park Hill Principal
By Lynn Kalinauskas
Park Hill Elementary will have a new principal when Tonda Potts, who has been the principal for eight years, retires at the end of this school year.
Ken Burdette, former principal of Venture Prep High School, which is co-located with McAuliffe on the Smiley campus at 26th and Holly Street, will be the new principal. Burdette resigned his position at Venture Prep in early March.
Burdette lives in Park Hill. He has two children who attend the school.
“I am excited to be the next principal at Park Hill elementary,” he says. “It is an honor to work with such an amazing staff and a great community. Park Hill is one of the highest-rated elementary schools in Denver, and we will continue to ensure that all students achieve academically, socially, and with strong character.”
Park Hill Elementary is at 5050 E. 19th Ave.
