Birdland: The Smallest Towhee

Green-tailed Towhees are quite secretive — they spend much of their time foraging around in dense low thickets. But, as the Cornell Lab of Ornithology points out, they occasionally pop into view and can be heard whistling a little song or making a querulous-sounding mewing call. Green-tailed Towhees are the smallest towhees, with stunning deep olive and yellow-green coloring.
