Birdland: Master of the Sky

Bald Eagles are symbols of majesty, strength, courage, wisdom, power and freedom. The Bald Eagle, which was adopted as the national symbol of the United States in 1782, also carries the emblems of the importance of honesty and truthful principles, and the courage to look ahead. Winter is the perfect time to spot them on the Front Range, including at City Park, Cherry Creek Reservoir and the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. Last year, an estimated 1,200 Bald Eagles migrated through Colorado. This Bald Eagle was photographed by Park Hill resident Mark Silverstein.
